According to Choctaw legend, Nanih Waiya Cave is the place where the Choctaw emerged into this world. Those legends also say the Chickasaw, Creek and Cherokees may have also emerged here. It is ocated northeast of the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians reservation northeast of Philadelphia, Mississippi.
