May 3 2016 Vicksburg Battlefield

Photos I took at the Vicksburg national Military park on May 3, 2016. Vicksburg was one of the most influential battles of the American Civil War. The Union victory gave then de facto control of the Mississippi River. The numer of soldiers was enormous. Civilian casualties were quite high from both injuries and deprivation due to the seige. The park is one of the most highly "interpreted" parks in the world with lots of signs and monuments all throughout the park and the surrounding area,
