Grant-Kohrs Ranch

This is still a working ranch. It is also a National Historic Site depicting the era of the large open range ranches of the 1800s. In the late 1850s, Johnny Grant started the ranch near Dear Lodge, Montana. It doesn't hurt that he married the sister of Lemhi Shoshone Chief Tendoy. In 1868, Grant sells the ranch to Conrad Kohrs. Kohrs excelled at the cattle business. At one point he was called "The Cattle King of Montana". - Grant-Kohrs Ranch -
